Saskatchewan Agri-Value Initiative (SAVI)
Do you have a great idea for developing a product or prototype? Have you ever considered tapping into a new market to expand your business? Do you wonder how your business can become more efficient or cost effective by implementing a simple process or piece of technology? Are you interested in improving your business savvy by becoming more educated or improving a special skill? If you answered "yes" to even one of these questions, you may be eligible for the newly announced Saskatchewan Agri-Value Initiative (SAVI). SAVI is a new program under the federal-provincial Growing Forward policy framework. This initiative was designed for farmers and non-farmers who are involved in value-added processing of primary agricultural products. The goal is to assist in the development and expansion of small to medium-sized enterprises and to enable them to make sound business decisions and capture market opportunities. A company is able to access up to $50,000 over a four-year period. To find out more about the SAVI program, click on http://www.agriculture.gov.sk.ca/ and search SAVI!
