Saskatchewan Municipal Awards

Established in 2006, the Saskatchewan Municipal Awards (SMA) celebrate the excellent and innovative practices of Saskatchewan's municipal governments.

The awards showcase municipal practices that demonstrate:

  • good governance;
  • effective management;
  • consistent public engagement;
  • innovation;
  • significance;
  • transferability;
  • sustainability; and
  • capacity building.

The SMA program also aims to promote the successes of Saskatchewan's municipal sector to all of Saskatchewan.Are you going that extra mile within your municipality? Get recognized for it!

We are now accepting nominations for the 7th Annual Saskatchewan Municipal Awards.

There are exciting new changes to the Saskatchewan Municipal Awards Program!

Who can apply?
Urban and rural municipalities, Municipal council, administration and/or staff

What types of projects are awarded?
Awards presented to the top three initiatives who have shown innovation and betterment for the municipality in any areas such as environment, heritage, administration, etc.

An additional award profiling a regional cooperation project, given to a group of municipalities working together
