Wilkinson Foundation
The Wilkinson Foundation was established in 1984 to assist with the cost of preserving local history. Then Executive Director Lorne Wilkinson donated $1,000 to a trust fund, which was matched by SARM. To this day, the Wilkinson Family and SARM fund the foundation with annual equal contributions of $1,000. Funds must be used for a cairn or marker dedicated to the historical preservation of rural Saskatchewan, such as a plaque for a former school site or a marker dedicated to area settlers. The site must be located in an RM and the project must be supported and the location approved by the RM. The Foundation will cover two-thirds of the cost of the project to a maximum contribution of $200 per site for direct costs.
