David is currently a Councillor for Division 3 in the RM of Willow Bunch No. 42.
David completed his schooling in Rockglen in 1972, when he bought his farm. He farmed with his father until 1975 and since then, he has been in partnership with his brother.
David became involved in local government in 1993 when he was elected as Councillor. In 1997, David was involved in the formation of the South Central Area Transportation Planning Committee and chaired that committee for two years. In 1999, David worked with a group of farmers in the purchase of Red Coat Road and Rail, a short line running from Assiniboia to Pangman. In 2005, David worked with a group of municipalities to purchase their rail line from Assiniboia to Coronach, which they obtained January 1, 2006. In 2004, David was appointed by SARM to the FCM Board of Directors, a position he currently holds. In 2011, he was elected Chair of the Rural Forum at FCM.
David was elected as Director for Division 2 of SARM in 1999, Vice-President in 2004, and was elected President of SARM at the 2006 Annual Convention.
David married Lois in 1977, and they have two children, Jordan and Katelyn.
