David is currently a Councillor for Division 3 in the RM of Willow Bunch No. 42.
David completed his schooling in Rockglen and upon completion in 1972, he bought his farm. From 1972 until 1975, he farmed with his father and since then he has been in partnership with his brother.
David became involved in local government in 1993 when he was elected as Councillor. He is the RM representative to the Comfort Jubilee Senior Housing project in Assiniboia. In 1997, David was involved in the formation of the South Central Area Transportation Planning Committee. He chaired that committee for two years and was SARM's representative until 2006.
In 1999, David worked with a local group in the Ogema area to purchase their shortline rail, now known as Red Coat Road and Rail. In 2005, David, along with a group of RM representatives, negotiated with CP for the purchase of the Fife Lake rail line. A group of seven municipalities, along with Great Western Rail, now own and operate that shortline.
Elected as Director for Division 2 of SARM in March of 1999, David worked with the SARM Board to address the many issues put before them. At the 2004 Annual Convention, Dave was elected as Vice-President of SARM, and at the 2006 Annual Convention, Dave was elected President.
David married Lois in 1977 and two children; Jordan and Katelyn.
