Doug is currently the Reeve for the RM of Gull Lake No. 139.
He and his wife, Phyllis, have three children and live on the family homestead. They have a mixed grain and cattle operation. Doug has also worked in the grain industry for over 20 years with his current position as the grain marketing manager at the Paterson Terminal. He has several years of experience with agricultural concerns at both a local and international level.
Doug has served on many boards and committees. He is a past member of the Hazlet Local School Board, Director and President of the Hazlet Credit Union and then a director of the Southwest Credit Union. Doug has extensive experience with public relations, human resources and credit committees through these boards. He was also a director for the Antelope Lake Board.
Currently, Doug is involved with REDA as a director - Cypress Hills Regional Economic Development Authority. He has been a councillor with the RM of Gull Lake No. 139 for the past six years, and sits on many committees within the RM. He is active with the Municipal Employee Relations Committee, Budget Committee, Local Economic Development Board, Southwest Municipal Government Committee, Southwest Transportation Planning Committee, Water Development Committee and a representative for the Gull Lake Recreation Board.
