Ray Orb is currently the Reeve of the RM of Cupar No. 218.
Ray grew up in the Wheatwyn district of Markinch, Saskatchewan, and completed his education at Robert Southey School.
He was elected as agricultural councillor for the RM of Cupar No. 218 in 1980. He was elected as municipal Councillor in 1985, and then as Reeve in 1995, and still serves in that capacity. Ray has been involved with several local boards; the Cupar Memorial Rink Association, Cupar Ringette, Agricore United Advisory Group, and Cupar Conservation and Development Association. He served for several years as both a Director and President of the Regina District Association of Rural Municipalities, an association which has a membership of over 40 rural municipalities.
Ray believes there must be a change made in the property tax system regarding education tax and that SARM should continue to enhance its mandate in agriculture.
Ray and his wife, Val, operate a mixed farm in the Cupar area and have raised three children: Chelsey; Jocelyn; and Jerod.
