Ron is currently the Councillor for Division 5 in the RM of Vanscoy No. 345.
Ron served as Councillor for Division 1 in the RM Antelope Park No. 322 for eight years. He was elected to the council of the RM of Vancsoy No. 345 in 2005. He was elected as SARM Director of Division 5 in March of 2011.
Ron and his wife, Marj, bought their farm in 1965 in the RM of Antelope Park and farmed land that was homesteaded by his grandfather. They raised Quarter Horses and were very active in many horse activities with their family. Selling the farm in 2002, they moved to an acreage at Grandora. Ron now spends his time working on their acreage mowing his 20 acres of grass and helping neighbors with seeding and harvest.
Ron enjoyed years of playing baseball, hockey, curling and volunteers at all Blades hockey games. He is also a volunteer at Prairieland Park. Ron has been active in many volunteer organizations and is an active member in his church.
Ron and Marj celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2011.They have two daughters, one son, a son-in-law, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and one grandson.
Ron represents SARM on the following committees:

- Noxious Weeds Committee
- Shortline Financial Assistance Committee
